Orangery Weddings

Exposed brick walls, flagstone floor, covered glass roof – who doesn’t love an Orangery? According to Coco Wedding Venues, orangeries, glasshouses and conservatories are pretty ‘hot’ right now as a wedding venue – and this trend is not going away any time soon!

Goldsborough Hall’s Orangery, which was built in 2016, adds another dimension to our stately experience. The Hall is a 400-year-old Jacobean stately home, with elegant and beautifully decorated state rooms. The Orangery was built to create a different sort of area, nestled in between the Hall and 19th century Dower House.

The Orangery is a space you can use all year round and with its stunning glass roof, the room looks super bright in the winter months. But it’s during the summer months that the room really comes into its own. The glass doors open straight out onto the terrace, ideal for evening drinks and games on the lawn.  And with the gorgeous red brick walls and clean white roof space, it’s the perfect blank canvas to create your dream wedding.

The 1,000sq ft of space in the Orangery is an impeccable and elegant choice for weddings. It works perfectly as a dining area and has double doors which open out onto the sun terrace and straight out into the gorgeous private gardens.

The Orangery can cater for up to 110 guests for a fully seated wedding breakfast. For larger numbers a marquee can be positioned on the terrace adjoining the Orangery.

The Orangery gives great versatility to any wedding. It’s a blank space which can be decorated in any number of ways. We were delighted to see such style and innovation with a fabulous Great Gatsby themed wedding which lead to some stunning photographs!

The black and white features and opulent style looks amazing in the Orangery. It certainly has the ‘wow’ factor! The couple chose Goldsborough Hall because of its connections to Harewood House where they lived and how well a 1920s themed Great Gatsby wedding would work.

The Orangery is versatile and can work for both summer and winter. It’s bright and airy with lots of natural daylight.

In the summer there’s fabulous air-conditioning to keep guests cool or the double doors can be flung open, leading straight on to the terrace. And in the winter the room is warm and cosy – the a/c units become heaters and there’s church-style heating running all round the floor.
