Winter Weddings
Imagine sipping mulled wine in front of a roaring log fire in the Library, lit with dancing candles and snow falling outside.
Goldsborough Hall is famed for its warm family atmosphere and wonderful hospitality and winter weddings are just magical.
The weding couple can get ready in one of our gorgeous 5* four-poster bedrooms before sweeping down the 17th-century oak staircase.
After your service in the Sir Richard Hutton Room, Princess Mary’s Drawing Room or in the next door St Mary’s Church, have drinks before the fire in the Jacobean Library. Follow this with a sumptuous Wedding Breakfast in The Orangery before dancing the night away in style.
A Winter Wonderland
A winter wedding doesn’t have to be centred around Christmas. December has been very popular for a long time but there are a surprising number of winter months that are now just as popular.
Many of our winter weddings have shifted away from reds and golds of Christmas to silver, cream – or even dramatic purple.
Food and drink changes too in winter with mulled wine and hot canapés such as mini Yorkshire puds with venison and mini mince pies.
Wedding breakfasts could start with a warm soup, followed by hearty lamb rump and sticky toffee pudding.
And at Christmas time, guests dance round the Christmas tree, with rich, dramatic colours in every room.
